Juniperus chinensis ‘Blue Point’ is a cultivar of the Chinese juniper, a species of coniferous tree native to China and Japan. ‘Blue Point’ is a popular cultivar known for its upright, pyramidal shape and its steel-blue colored foliage. The tree can grow up to 15 feet tall and around 5 feet wide. Its foliage is dense and very dark blue color. The tree is tolerant to a wide range of soil conditions, but prefers well-drained soils, and is also drought tolerant. It can survive in cold temperatures as well. It is often used as a specimen plant, as a hedge or screen, or as a windbreak. It is also commonly used in bonsai cultivation.
