Koelreuteria bipinnata, also known as the Chinese Flame Tree or Goldenrain Tree, is a deciduous tree native to China and Korea. It is known for its large, showy clusters of yellow flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer, followed by attractive, papery lantern-like fruits that mature to a golden-orange color. The tree can grow up to 20-30 ft tall and wide, with a rounded or spreading shape, and has a dense foliage. The leaves are large, pinnate and green. The tree is tolerant to a wide range of soil conditions and is also drought tolerant. It prefers well-drained soils and full sun exposure. It is also used for street planting, as a shade tree and for beautification of public spaces.
