Lagerstroemia x ‘Tuscarora’ is a cultivar of the Crape Myrtle, a deciduous tree or shrub that is a hybrid of Lagerstroemia indica and Lagerstroemia fauriei. ‘Tuscarora’ is a popular cultivar known for its large, showy clusters of dark pink flowers that bloom in mid to late summer. The tree can grow up to 20-25 ft tall and wide, with a rounded shape and has a dense foliage. The leaves are glossy and green, turning yellow to red-purple in fall. The tree is tolerant to a wide range of soil conditions, but prefers well-drained soils and full sun exposure. It is drought tolerant, and can survive in cold temperatures as well. It is often used as a specimen plant, as a hedge or screen, or as a windbreak. It is also commonly used in landscaping, street planting and parks.
